Waiting for Baby Ryan

Posted by admin on May 28 2008 | Maternity, Recent Sessions

I am always flattered and grateful for referrals, as I was when Crystal called me for a maternity session.  I had photographed her best friend’s family several times, and was now invited to photograph hers! Crystal was just two weeks away from her due date, when I took the following maternity photos of her and her sweet family.  This is baby number three - the first boy, named Ryan.  Congratulations to the family and thank you for inviting me to photograph these special moments for you.  I look forward to the upcoming newborn session we have scheduled! :-)

New York, New York ~ Big Blue Goes Big Apple

Posted by admin on May 04 2008 | Special Events

Saturday night, LJCDS held its annual Auction Gala to benefit the Parents’ Association.  This year’s theme was “New York, New York - Big Blue Goes Big Apple”.  As the volunteer photographer, and parent of a Torrey Kindergartner, I was proud to be a part of such a special evening.

Next year, I’m going to find out how to dance and shoot at the same time. ;-)

Awaiting Saoirse!

Posted by admin on May 03 2008 | Maternity, Recent Sessions

It is always special to be invited to photograph an expectant mother and family - especially when that family has been in front of my camera so many times.  This was one of those sessions.

In the belly, you see below, is Saoirse (SEER-sha) - named after the Irish word for Freedom.  In sort of an act of “freedom”, she arrived into our world just days after this session.

Since Mom has arranged for her to be photographed at special milestones, during her first 18 months, I will be meeting her very soon!

Philippa and the Girls

Posted by admin on Apr 08 2008 | Recent Sessions

I had a really fun session, recently, at Windansea Beach in La Jolla - my favorite beach to shoot at.

The family was made up of a very nice woman and her two girls, and we met about an hour before sunset.  We started out the session pretty normally - just moving to different locations, taking a few shots at a time - when, suddenly, her girls went running into the ocean like a call to the wild!

In no time, both girls were soaking wet and covered in sand.  Mom was totally relaxed about it and said, “Well, I guess the dry photos are over.”

The funny part is that I ended up covered in sand, too, and it didn’t even bother me! Look at those faces… Who could be mad?

Here are a few shots from our session.  If you have the passcode, click here for the full gallery.

Brad

Posted by admin on Mar 21 2008 | Recent Sessions

Let me tell you… Mr. Pitt is not the only Brad who makes the ladies swoon.

This Brad had me at “Hello”, although I had to kind of imagine the “Hello” part - since he doesn’t talk yet.

Brad is the third son of a friend of mine, and I have been itching to photograph him since he was born.  The warmth of his eyes and his cheeks - Oh my goodness.

Brad, his mom and I stole away to a private corner at our kids’ school (Shhh, don’t tell) and had fun during our short session.

Here are a couple of my favorites, below, but you can click this link for the full gallery: Brad’s Gallery

Kisses to Brad.  Mom, too.  XO
